Paramount has seriously upgraded the offerings on their War of the Worlds site.
I’m not going to get into the specifics since this will most likely be the subject of an upcoming Filmthreat column but definitely surf over to check it out.
(Thanks to CinemaBlend for the heads-up.)

FILM ROTATION : Ton’s O’ Paris Hilton News!!!! SUPERMAN!!!
It’s funny: When the House of Wax website first launched I noticed a heading labeled “Podcast”. When I revisited the site a while later to view the trailer that label had disappeared.
It looks like it was meant to be there all along, though as Filmrot (and others) reports Paris Hilton will be providing podcasts as part of the ramp-up for this horror remake. Good move. Just make sure there is an RSS feed so people can subscribe to it and have it automatically downloaded via a podcatcher of some sort.

Cingular is providing its customers with Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith ringtones. Great move and completely in line with the new ground I think needs to be broken in multimedia marketing efforts.

Warner Bros. has released the new one-sheet for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I like how the slightly tilted hat Johnny Depp is wearing maintains a bit of the sense of mystery that the first teaser poster did. It’s just enough to show that there is some hidden agenda Depp’s Wonka is keeping to himself. The floating heads of the kids makes me think of a DVD cover but maybe that’s the point. Maybe the two divisions are consulting on promotional art. That’s fine by me. I like to see theatrical one-sheets carried over onto DVD releases so if they are reaching some sort of compromise then everyone wins.
