Email vs. RSS

Andrew Lark passes on this quote from Guardian writer Charles Arthur:

So I’m not going to read things that are obviously press releases because the possibility of it just being annoying or irrelevant is too great; I’m going to go to my aggregator instead, because I’ve chosen every feed there for its potential interest.

By providing RSS feeds of press releases and other corporate information you’re basically allowing your stakeholder base (consumers, press agents, investors and so on) with a way for them to control how they get your information.  It doesn’t get glossed over in an email inbox while they’re busy deleting spam and they can save or easily blog important tidbits.  It’s an important tool and more and more companies are using it.  Are you?

Rocky Balboa official website

The upcoming Rocky Balboa now has an official website in addition to the blog, courtest of Sony Pictures. There’s not much there other than a link to said blog and one to a link on the DVDs of the original set of movies. It’s out there though. This really isn’t a joke.
