Disney extends loyalty program from home video to the movie theater

Disney has expanded the reach of its “Disney Loyalty Rewards” program outside of just the home video market to now include theatrical releases. Currently the program gives members points and perks for each Disney Home Video purchase they make. Those rewards range from points to be used for future purchases to access to exclusive promotional material.

Now, though, Disney is letting members earn points when they see Meet the Robinsons in theaters. Members simply mail their ticket stubs in to get their points. Only select theatrical films will be eligible for the program and will be listed, along with eligible DVDs, on the program’s website.

This is a fantastic idea that incentivizes moviegoing and membership in the program.
