We get solid looks at both Angel and Beast, two founding members of the X-Men who had to wait until the third movie to get on screen. We get confirmation that Jean Grey does, indeed return and in some wicked powerful shape. Cyclops looks like he’s about to go off the deep end emotionally. Wolverine and Storm are primarily shown kicking some ass, which means new director Brett Ratner doesn’t have the cajones to tell Halle Berry that she can’t act so she will once again be relagated to the sidelines.

Overall the movie seems to be slicker and more, I don’t know, glossy than the first two entries, a look I attribute directly to Ratner being a hack director. Will it do the job of building anticipation? Sure. While I’m sure there will be a lot of screen time which promises a deep emotional story like the first two delivered those scenes will likely be interupted because Ratner wants to blow something up. An OK trailer for what probably will be a disappointing movie.
